Kathmandu: In response to recent developments in Bangladesh, Nepal has heightened vigilance in its border areas. This includes an increase in personnel and enhanced security measures at international transit points to prevent infiltration and illegal entry of foreign nationals.

Following directives from the Central Security Committee, the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force of Nepal have issued a circular to their subordinate units, instructing them to strengthen security by deploying additional forces as needed and adopting high vigilance while assessing the situation.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, spokesperson for the Nepal Police, stated that the security system has been reinforced by deploying additional forces along with the existing security personnel. "Security personnel have been instructed to be alert at airports and entry and exit points, especially in the Tarai region and areas bordering neighboring India, and to make security arrangements after assessing potential risks," he said.

Similarly, Deputy Inspector General Kumar Neupane, spokesperson for the Armed Police Force Nepal, shared that security deployment has been strengthened by increasing personnel in the border areas while remaining vigilant against the infiltration of individuals from other countries.
